|As co-host of “Colorado’s Best”, Paula Haddock is thrilled to feature a variety of local entrepreneurs, businesses, charities, and deals.Paula spent 20 years reporting and anchoring news in several markets, including Denver, Memphis, Tulsa, and Colorado Springs.She has been recognized with numerous awards, including two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for the coverage of Columbine.While in Colorado Springs, Paula helped launch a consumer advocacy franchise, recruited and trained a 20-person volunteer staff, and recouped millions of dollars for consumers in southern Colorado. The franchise still exists today.Her recent investigative reporting in Denver lead to the arrest and conviction of Andrew Ragusin, a fake attorney, defrauding a dozen Denver area families out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. He’s currently serving a 10 year prison sentence. After the conviction, Paula received this email from the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation, which says, “Thank you for all of your hard work… without your initial report our office and the Denver District Attorney’s office may not have heard of Mr. Ragusin’s schemes until many other consumers of legal services had been injured. Your reporting provided a great service to Colorado.”Paula has called Colorado “Home” for 14 years. She fell in love with Colorado as a young girl, spending many summers with her family in the Colorado mountains.Paula and her husband Jim live near downtown Denver with their two adorable dachshunds.If you’d like to contact Paula and share a story idea, click here.||Nationally certified fitness instructor Joana Canals has trained the television masses as host and producer of “Fit on Fox” for Good Day Colorado and worldwide web audiences.She has shown fitness goers how simple and in-expensive products change lives one body part at a time. Her fitness expertise includes Pilates, cycle, boxing, strength training and Mommy and Me fitness classes. She has worked for nationwide chains like 24-Hour Fitness, Bally Total Fitness and owns her own personal training studio.As a television host, Joana has represented Honda in their active woman campaign. Joana has had years of television news reporting experience in markets like San Diego, Tijuana, Salt Lake City and Denver. Her bilingual capabilities as a South American native have taken her to countries like Mexico and Colombia for reporting and production opportunities.Her personal experiences fighting breast cancer in her own family, prompted her to be the first woman to do a mammogram on live television for Good Day Colorado in Denver. As a high risk woman she decided to reveal her results live, good or bad, with hopes of inspiring women everywhere to take the fear out of preventive testing.Joana has called Colorado “Home” for the last 10 years. And as a busy mother of a nine-year-old son and six-year-old daughter, she finds that keeping the family active lends to great family time. She has trained her son for multiple kids’ triathlons and teaches her children to read nutrition labels. Getting kids to love fitness is one of her main goals as a member of the Governor’s Council for Physical Fitness in Colorado.
